    This is the basic introductory class at Harts.   2. Named- Astrid Wrap Pant- Level 2

    Named- Astrid Wrap Pant- Level 2

    (Adult) April 27th 6-9pm

    The Astrid is a fun wrap pant and shorts pattern from Named of Finnland. This is the perfect pattern for a beginner since this is a wrap pattern with no closures. A fun way to add a new style to your wardrobe.The pattern includes two variations: Wide leg trousers and short.s Both variations have a high waist with a wrap tie closure Belt loops at the back. Note that the trousers have extra length for high heels. Pick a well-draping fabric for trousering. For the shorts you can also go for a bit stiffer fabric. The sample trousers are made up in a tencel twill, shorts are made of silk faille.     Kids/Teens Lined Bag-Level 2

    (Kids/Teens) May 5th 3:30-5:30pm

    Review of Machine basics (winding a bobbin, threading machine, straight stitch, locking seams, seam allowance). Instruction is use of a rotary cutter, the importance of ironing seams. Students will create a lined bag with straps, learning cutting techniques and gain confidence in accurate seam allowances. Required Supplies: Sewing Machine, Rotary Cutter, 1/2 yard cotton or linen for main fabric  and a 1/2 yrd cotton fabric for lining, 1/2 yard of lightweight canvas or fusible fleece for added structure (optional) 1.5 yards cotton webbing. Thread that coordinates with your fabric, fabric scissors and pins.

    This is a two in one pattern from Named of Finnland that includes the Inari Tee Dress and the Inari Cropped Tee. This pattern is very versatile and can work for any season.The pattern includes two variations: A loose-fitting tee dress and a cropped A-line tee Short sleeves with a rolled-up effect. The dress is slightly cocoon-shaped, with an uneven hemline. Slits at the sides of the dress. Finish the neckline with a facing or a separate neckband. Choose a light to medium weight fabric, non-stretch or with slight stretch.   25. Wiksten Baby Bloomers- Level 2

    Wiksten Baby Bloomers- Level 2

    (Adult) May 27th 10am-12pm

    Skills include tracing and cutting out a pattern, creating an elastic casing, creating french seams and building on seam allowance precision. These are a classic baby and toddler bloomer and bloomer style pant pattern that can easily become a wardrobe staple for any baby or toddler. They are cut slightly higher in the back so fitting them over a diaper should be no problem. The elastic waist and leg opening also make them easy for a toddler to get on and off by themselves. Recommended fabrics are light to medium weight woven fabrics like voile, lawn, chambray, quilting cotton, double gauze, and linen. Recommended supplies: Sewing Machine, Wiksten Bloomer pattern, Swedish Tracing Paper, 1/2 yard of  several fabric options, (you will have time to make more than one pair in class, and can finish up the rest on your own while the instructions are still fresh) 1.5 yards of 3/4 inch elastic for each pair, two safety pins, basic sewing supplies like scissors, pins or clips, matching thread.
