    Great Gifts-Pot Holders-Level 2

    (Kids/Teens) Dec 10 10:15-1:15pm- Review of what is learned in level one while creating fun pot holders that can be given as gifts. Students are assisted with fabric selection and suggestions to design personalized pot holders to please their family and/or friends. They will make as many as they have time to complete. Supplies: Sewing macine, 3-4 fat quarters that coordinate nicely, 1/2 yard of insul-bright, money to purchase ribbon or trim ($10), thread to coordinate with fabrics, pins.

    Machine rental available for $15

    (Kids/Teens) Dec 12 3:30-5pm- Level 3- Day One of Two Day Workshop- Sewing with knits, sewing with wovens, hand stitching, reinforce basic sewing skills.You'll have time to make two scarves in this class and Christmas is coming! ( for your own party needs or gifts!) We will be making 1 woven scarf and 1 knit scarf. 2/3 yd. woven fabric 54"-60"wide or 1/3 each of 2 complimentary woven fabrics and 2/3 yd knit fabric 54"-60"wide or 1/3 each of 2 complimentary knits the same width. Matching thread, BALL POINT sewing machine needle, basic sewing supplies.

    Open Sew UFO- Level 2

    (Adult)Dec 12 6-9pm- Level 2- Some sewing experience is helpful in an open workshop. If you are a beginner, we encourage you to sign up for a Level One class prior to joining an open sew workshop. Need some insight, direction or inspiration to assist with starting or finishing a sewing project? Take advantage of a professional sewist to guide you through any creative problem-solving needs for your project. Whether it's working with knits, silk or a hard to understand pattern, our instructors have a depth of knowledge and experience to share with you. Bring your own sewing machine and basic sewing supplies to the workshop along with your fabric and notions.

    (Kids/Teens) Dec 13 3:30-5:30pm- This is Day One of a Two Day Workshop. Review of what is taught in level 2 and learning to put in a zipper. Students will create zippered purse that carries cell phone, money or other important items. Purse will have cording strap so it can be work across the body or over the shoulder. 1/2 yard of fabrics, fat quarters or extra fabrics from home. Each zippered purse takes a piece of fabric 12" wide and 9" tall for outside and another for the lining. Money to purchase cording and zippers on class - $15

    Bring your own machine or Machine Rental $15.

    Box Cushions: Level 2

    (Adults) Dec 13th 6- 9pm- Dress it up for the Holidays! Box cushions are great for window seats, dining table benches, outdoor chairs or even a bench at the foot of your bed. Students who can make a straight stitch using a sewing machine will learn to make a box cushion with welting and a zipper. Teacher will send a complete list of supplies directly to students; most will be purchased at Harts the day of the class.

    (Adult) Dec 17 10:15am-1:15pm Design your bag to fit your vision of the perfect zippered travel or storage bag. Learn the installation techniques for a zipper, lining and french seams. This bag is large enough to fit all of your toiletries, make up with brushes or craft supplies. A great gift!

    Supplies- Sewing Machine, 1/2 Yard Exterior Fabric or 5/8 Yard if using fabric with directional print, 1/2 Yard Shapeflex if using quilting cotton for the exterior fabric, 1/2 Yard Lining Fabric (can be quilting cotton or rainwear), 20" Packaged Zipper to compliment the exterior fabric or 22" of zipper by the yard plus a zipper pull, Thread,  1/4 Yard Webbing for the handle, matching thread and basic cutting and sewing supplies.

    French Seam Pillow Case- Level 1

    (Adult) Jan 3 10am-1pm This is the basic introductory class at Harts. In this class you will learn proper use of a sewing machine, including threading, filling a bobbin, etc. Proper pinning for sewing, french seams, corners, and more. You will end up with a beautiful pillowcase you can use on your bed. Supplies Needed: 3/4 yd cotton, 1/4 yd complementing cotton, thread, pins, scissors, marking tool.
