    Kids/Teens Lined Bag- Level 2

    (Kids/Teens) July 31, 3:30pm – 5:30pm

    Review of Machine basics (winding a bobbin, threading machine, straight stitch, locking seams, seam allowance). Instruction is use of a rotary cutter, the importance of ironing seams. Students will create a lined bag with straps, learning cutting techniques and gain confidence in accurate seam allowances. Required Supplies: Sewing Machine, Rotary Cutter, 1/2 yard cotton or linen for main fabric  and a 1/2 yrd cotton fabric for lining, 1/2 yard of lightweight canvas or fusible fleece for added structure (optional) 1.5 yards cotton webbing. Thread that coordinates with your fabric, fabric scissors and pins.

    Learn how to make a lined bag, use a zipper foot and install a zipper in a cute pouch. ( we will make the large pouch in class) This V & Co pattern makes the perfect set of pouches for pencils, makeup bag, tech organization and more. Use these adorable pouches to show off your favorite fabrics with contrasting zippers. Choose a laminated cotton for the lining if you want to use the pouch as a make up bag or as your lunch bag.
