    (Adult) Jan 18- 6-9pm- This is Day One of a Two Day Workshop. Categorized as a Beginning pattern, Cooper gives you three different bags from one basic body: messenger bag, backpack, and satchel. These highly durable bags can be made in a range of sturdy fabrics such as duck canvas, waxed canvas, twill, and heavy ticking. This bag is also awesome using upholstery fabric! All versions are lined and feature eight large pockets, magnetic closures, and hardware details. The messenger bag (version 1) has an adjustable cross-body strap. The backpack (version 2) has two shoulder straps and a hang loop. The two-handled satchel (version 3) does double duty as a bike pannier.     (Adult) Jan 31- 10am-1:30pm- The Moss is a semi-fitted skirt that sits slightly below the natural waist and works up well in a variety of fabrics, from denim to wool to corduroy and many fabrics in-between. Skirt features a fly front and button closure as well as a yoke at the back. If mini isn't quite your style, add the hem band.     South Bay Modern Quilt Guild Meeting

    (Adult) Feb 7- 6:30-8:30pm- We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm @ Harts Fabric in Santa Cruz, CA. In addition to our monthly guild meetings we host sew days, workshops, and an annual quilt retreat. Our guild members also design and create charity quilts. Our membership year is from January to December. Joining our local guild also gives you membership to the Modern Quilt Guild (MQG). September of 2016 is our five year guild founding anniversary. We invite you to attend two complimentary meetings before joining. We welcome visitors to join us at our monthly guild meetings and learn more about us. Students will use a basic pattern to sew a bag that is reversible and has a pocket on one side.Supplies:½ yard cotton fabric for one side and ½ yard cotton fabric for other side (bag is reversible), 1½ yards of 1” webbing, any color you want to coordinate with tote bag fabric.
