Shirting Fabric

Shirting is a broad term for a fabric suitable for making shirts. Shirting fabrics usually have a tight weave making them less sheer so no one can see through your shirt. They tend to have a high thread count and are generally yarn dyed. Yarn dyed means that the individual threads are dyed and woven to make the pattern (if there is one) on the fabric. This makes the fabric the same on both sides as opposed to printed cottons that are only printed on one side. These fabrics are wonderful for shirting but can be used for so many different projects. Cotton shirting tends to have a soft but crisp drape and they can be shirred into a moderate fullness, pleated or gathered but just remember when planning your project that fabrics with tighter weaves may be a little difficult to ease. Any way you end up using these fabrics we are positive you are just going to love them. Order with confidence with our easy, no hassle returns policy.
