Interfacing

Designed to help add structure, shape and support to a portion of a garment that might otherwise hang lifeless, interfacing and stabilizers are essential for many clothes-making and home decor projects. You can add interfacing to drapery projects, like on curtain tie-backs, or on a garment's collar or pocket to give it extra shape and structure. Stabilizers are used to add extra support to a piece of fabric during machine stitching, leaving behind a more substantial finished project. We carry a wide variety of interfacing types, including double-stick fusible web, fusible interfacing, sew-on interfacing, iron-on vinyl and buckram. Fusible interfacing is a great choice for beginners because it can be easily ironed on to create a stiffer effect on any garment, while buckram is ideal for any project that needs more flexible stability like drapery-making. Iron-on vinyl can be used to help protect fabrics or other smooth surfaces that need an extra layer of scuff- and water-resistance. No matter your precise project, Harts Fabric has an interfacing or stabilizing option for you.
