Hey June Union St. Tee PDF Pattern

The Union St. Tee is a great wardrobe basic in any pattern stash. With the option for a v-neck, scoop neck, or crew neck with four sleeve lengths (short, elbow, 3/4, or long), you'll get endless combinations in one pattern! It makes a a perfect blank slate for anything you can dream up, from embroidery and applique to screen printing, stencils, sequins and more. An optional chest pocket is included as well as a separate front piece adjusted for a full bust (FBA).

The example photos use four very different fabrics to illustrate how the Union looks in different substrates. The pink short-sleeved tee uses cotton/lycra blend. The 3/4 length sleeved maroon tee uses drapey rayon/spandex for a fancier look and feel; rayon/spandex blend is the best fabric to use for disguising any fit issues, as the excellent drape helps eliminate any drag lines! The slub gray elbow-length tee is made with triblend (a cotton/poly/rayon combo, sometimes with spandex) which is perfect for lightweight, lived-in, vintage-y feeling tops. The striped long sleeved tee is made with a double knit, which is heavier and more structured with less drape; it makes a wonderful thicker tee that feels like a light sweater.

Recommended Fabrics:
The Union St. Tee pattern works well with cotton and cotton blend jerseys, as well as rib knit, interlock, waffle knit, rayon lycra, or even stretch lace! Anything with a stretch of at least 30% will work, but 50 – 100% stretch is best. Just remember – the smaller the stretch percentage, the more fitted your shirt will be, so plan accordingly.

A note on cotton/spandex or cotton/lycra blends: While these will work perfectly well and be easy to sew (giving you a look similar to the pink top), it is not listed as recommended because it usually doesn’t have great drape and tends to exacerbate slight fit issues. If you choose to use C/L, just be prepared for a few extra lines and wrinkles.
